An exciting new chapter for Tillo

Today sees the start of an exciting new chapter for Tillo. Founded in 2016 by Gareth Gillatt and Alex Preece, recognising the constraints of the plastic gift cards in the digital age, their goal was to transform the gift card market and they looked for technology to revolutionise the market. It was time to shake things up and redefine how rewards, incentives, and gifts were being managed. And now it’s time for a new chapter!

Gareth has made the transition from CEO to Chairman and will remain a stakeholder in the business, continuing to support the senior management team. Gareth’s roles and responsibilities will pass to Alex, who will take on the role of CEO, as he embarks on a new and exciting journey as we launch a new set of products and continue to expand internationally.

Gareth comments: “As a founder, when you conceive an idea all that you wish for is a collection of people that share your belief, a product that resonates with the market and enough money to make payroll!

In all honesty, the success of Tillo has far exceeded my original expectations and that's thanks to the support of all the fantastic members of staff at Tillo, our customers (brands and partners) as well as the gift card community as a whole.

However, it's time for me to start a new adventure and all being well, I'll still have the opportunity to catch up with all our customers and industry people at some of the upcoming GCVA events such as the Hall of Fame, Christmas Party and March Conference.

As a final thought, my original intention when starting Tillo was to try and leave the gift card industry in a much better place than when I found it back in early 2016. I'll let you be the judge of whether or not that has been the case - but digital B2B seems to be a thing now.

Thanks once again for all your support and belief in myself, Alex and the Tillo business - onwards and upwards.”
